The Ministry of Public Health of Cameroon has issued an urgent warning regarding the safety of some Blédina® baby food products. Following the detection of aflatoxins in certain batches at the international level, a global recall has been initiated.
Aflatoxins are toxic substances produced by certain molds. Prolonged exposure, especially in children, can lead to serious health risks. To protect the most vulnerable, the Minister of Public Health has ordered the immediate preventive withdrawal of all Blédina products currently on the market in Cameroon until investigations are completed and safety is confirmed.
Parents and caregivers are urged to take this alert seriously and follow the guidance below.
AFFECTED PRODUCTS
Blédina® Cereal Biscuit Flavor – 400 g – Expiry Date: 06/09/2026
Bleedina® Cereal Biscuit Flavor – 400 g – Expiry Date: 09/09/2026

While waiting for further updates, the public is strongly advised not to consume the listed products. Any suspected adverse reaction—such as digestive problems or unusual symptoms—should be reported immediately to the nearest health facility.
The Ministry of Public Health reaffirms its commitment to protecting children’s health and will share timely updates, including instructions for safe product resale or replacement.
What This Means for Parents and Caregivers
Stop using the listed Blédina products immediately, regardless of whether your batch matches the exact expiry dates.
Check your stock at home and remove any potentially affected products.
Stay alert for any unusual health symptoms in children who may have already consumed the products, and consult a health professional promptly.
Wait for official updates from the Ministry before purchasing or reusing Blédina products.
Bottom Line: Until further notice, do not give your children the Blédina products listed above. The Ministry of Public Health is actively investigating and will provide updates to guide families on safe alternatives or replacements.
Protecting our children starts with vigilance.
